Will my website go down during a transfer?
No. A transfer only changes the registrar. As long as your nameservers stay the same, your website and email continue to work.
Why can't my domain be transferred?
A domain cannot be transferred within 60 days of registration or a previous transfer, while it is locked, or if it has expired and is in redemption. Make sure the registrant email is correct, too.
Does a transfer add a year?
For most generic extensions (.com, .net, .org…) a transfer adds one year to the expiry date. Some country extensions such as .tr, .uk and .de are transferred without a fee or extension.
